Remote Online Training (ROT) is now treated identically to face-to-face programmes, while pure e-learning follows a distinct hourly matrix that simplifies grant and claim calculations.
For e-learning programmes of seven hours or less, employers key a decimal day value into e-TRiS (0.1 for 1 hour up to 1.0 for 7 hours) and may claim a maximum of RM125 per hour per participant, equating to RM875 for a full day. Longer programmes are calculated by adding half-day (0.5) or full-day (1.0) increments. A minimum of one complete module and one hour is required.
Remote Online Training—whether in-house or public—follows the same fee, allowance and supporting-document rules as the corresponding face-to-face category. System-generated attendance reports (with timestamps, trainee names and dual signatures plus company stamps) are mandatory for online claims. Employers may claim only one type of allowance (meal or trainee) and must achieve at least 75 % attendance for full entitlement; otherwise amounts are prorated. All approvals remain at HRD Corp’s sole discretion and are subject to the prevailing rate of financial assistance.
