Invoice Mistakes That Delay HRDC Claims
The invoice is not a formality. Mismatch between invoice, attendance, and programme record is a classic delay trigger.
Three documents must tell the same story
Invoice, attendance, and programme outline should describe the same training event — same dates, same audience logic, and a commercial structure a reviewer can follow.
Errors that create queries
- Training dates that do not match attendance sheets
- Line items that cannot be mapped to allowable categories
- Wrong billing entity or incomplete supplier details
- Bundled “training package” costs with no readable breakdown when breakdown is needed
- Headcount on the invoice that does not match who signed in
Working habit
Review a draft invoice pattern with your provider before training week, not after submission pressure starts. Ask: if a stranger opened only the invoice, attendance, and outline — would they recognise one event?
